Fixed point atan2
WebMar 26, 2024 · This is a fixed point version of the libc atan2() routine. It computes the arc tangent of y / x, but the signs of both arguments are used to determine the quadrant of the result, and x is permitted to be zero. This function is useful to convert Cartesian coordinates to polar coordinates. Example: WebContext Over a short period of time, I came across nearly identical approximations of the two parameter arctangent function, atan2, developed by different companies, in different countries, and even in different decades.Fascinated with how the coefficients used in these approximations were derived, I set out to find them.
