WebJan 10, 2008 · I find that after feeding the Powerblock with either a POD (with amp models) or effects that change the signal impedance and add sonic character, the Crate sounds awfully flat and drab when run straight, without these devices. Probably true of anything that you get hooked on but in this case, hey, it's a cheap and unexpectedly powerful little head.
